He is also Adjunct Professor (Docent) of Music Management and Culture Export at Aalto University in Espoo, where he previously worked as Academy Research Fellow and Research Manager. Kimi Kärki is a Research Fellow in Cultural History at the International Institute for Popular Culture (IIPC), and holds a title of Docent in Cultural Heritage Studies, University of Turku, Finland.
