Description

The book seeks to highlight the still constant stigma towards transgender athletes in the sports field, especially trans women athletes. Although there are already many studies and research on sport and its different interfaces, studies involving the subjectivity of specific groups can still be explored. We therefore hope that this book can contribute to the political, social and academic debate on the issue. It is worth remembering that the 21st century is full of social changes and since the advent of the internet and social networks, more and more systematically excluded populations have the means to make themselves heard. We wish you, dear reader, a good read on this very recent and complex subject and we would like to point out in advance that we do not intend to exhaust the subject, nor do we intend to establish absolute truths about the participation of transgender athletes in the sports environment.
