Leonardo Hermes Dutra is a Veterinarian who graduated in 2006 from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria - RS. His main lines of research and work have been in the areas of Veterinary Clinical Pathology and Preventive Veterinary Medicine. He co-authored the book "Prevention... is still the best medicine" with an emphasis on zoonoses and the health programme for diseases in populations. In 2008 and 2009, he was trained in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and EPI-INFO. He graduated from EPISUS (Tephinet Global network of field epidemiology training) in 2012. He has worked in the Malaria Control programme in Brazil and currently in the Ministry of Health (MS), Brazil, focusing on laboratory epidemiology, Tableau and data analysis.
