Nanoemulsions are also known as miniemulsions, submicrometer emulsions or ultrafine emulsions, and range in size from 5 to 500 nm. In the literature on nanoemulsion-related substances and the biotechnological properties of EOs from Cymbopogon citratus , Citus sinensis and Citrus limon , the use of natural agents in isolation or in combination with synthetic materials shows promise for preventing, delaying, deterring or reversing carcinogenic substances .
