Whispers from Above is a collection of poems and inspirational messages that my mother wrote as she was going through different various trials and seasons of her life. I remember my mother would tell my brother and me that God would give her "thoughts" on things to write about. For example, one Christmas season, my mother was given a thought from the Lord to rewrite "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to emphasize the birth of Christ. She called this work, "'Twas the Night of the First Christmas." That Christmas Eve she read us the poem that the Lord gave her, and it became part of our Christmas Eve tradition throughout the years with my brother and me, and even our children. As I was going through my Mom's notebook of poems, I found a poem about my brother and me which is called "My Sons." Now as a Father of two young adults, I can't help but get choked up as I read her heartfelt words and identify with how much my brother and I were loved and cherished by her. And how she simply wanted the best for us so that we would grow up to be "true and proper" men. Often I use my mother's poems as part of the concluding remarks in my messages in church. Many people have approached me asking to get a copy of the poems. It is my desire that everyone who reads her works come to understand that God has a plan and a purpose for them no matter what they're going through.

My Mother Barbara Iaione had a great gift of story telling with her poems she had written. They were all Bible based poems that were fun to listen to. I remember her getting out the binder she kept them in and going through them to see which one she would read to us. I am so glad this will be open to everyone to enjoy.
