About the author
Gokhan Burcin Kubat currently serves as a Unit Manager in the Department of Mitochondria and Cellular Research, Gulhane Health Sciences Institute, University of Health Sciences, Turkey. He also attended the "Molecular Diagnostic Practicum" training at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, and worked in the field of molecular pathology. He has contributed to research in mitochondrial transplantation and mitochondrial biogenesis with 10 peer reviewed publications, including in the Journal Molecular Medicine, Mitochondrion, Life Sciences, Biochimie, Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy and Turk J Sports Med.
Oner Ulger currently serves in the Department of Mitochondria and Cellular Research, Gulhane Health Sciences Institute, University of Health Sciences in Ankara, Turkey. He got his doctorate from the Department of Physiology, Health Sciences Institute, University of Health Sciences in Turkey. He studies mitochondrial transplantation with high-impact research and review articles including in published in the Life Sciences, Biochimie, Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, Mitochondrion, and Journal of Molecular Medicine.
Dr Gunaydin currently serves as a faculty and clinical professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery in Ankara City Hospital Campus, University of Health Sciences, Turkey. He studied histology and embryology and received PhD in Biomaterial Sciences in Tokyo Heart Institute, Japan. He is the Vice President for International Society of Minimally Invasive Extracorporeal Circulation (MiECTIS) and General Secretary of Turkish Enhanced recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Society. He also works as the scientific board member in Giganode Foundation and Heart Team Education Association. He directs international scientific projects on clinical evaluation and biomaterial confirmation of novel cardiopulmonary bypass-related technologies based on the prevention of inflammatory response, patient blood management and ERAS.
