About the author

Louis H. Feldman is Professor of Classics at Yeshiva University in New York. He was the final translator of the Loeb Classical Library edition of Josephus (1965) and he has compiled widely used annoted bibliographies for Josephan studies. In addition to scores of articles, he has written Jew and Gentile in the Ancient Word (Princeton University, 1993), Studies in Hellenistic Judaism (Brill, 1996), Studies in Josephus's Rewritten Bible (Brill, 1998), and Josephus's Interpretation of the Bible (University of California, 1998).
