Summary

Strategies for Bridging America’s Political Identity

In Boyd Matheson’s all-new social philosophy guidebook, learn what we can do to create transformational communication about government and politics.

The beginning of better disagreements. For almost a decade, American culture has become deeply entrenched in political news and partisan allegiance. So much so that debates between friends, family, and strangers can quickly be overcome with angst and fear. But that doesn’t have to be the case anymore. From Rage to Reason by Boyd Matheson, radio host of Inside Sources, examines the necessity for creating active and honest communication that unites us rather than driving wedges in relationships and communications. By diving into the root of modern social ideologies and the correlations between them, this deep conversations book teaches us how collaborative discussions can foster meaningful change in our communities and the country.

Methods for challenging cognitive biases. Building bridges in a politically divided world is never easy. That is why From Rage to Reason shares effective actions that can dismantle social, verbal, and emotional barriers in yourself and others. With deep conversation starters and strategies that challenge the metaphorical weight of political identity, we can dismantle miscommunication and distrust in our community through the power of empathy, honesty, and empowerment.

Inside From Rage to Reason, you’ll find more transformative wisdom including:
  • How taking a position rather than picking a side prevents polarization and elevates dialogue
  • Why lack of curiosity is the greatest threat to American democracy
  • Why applying the active skills of “peacemaking” rather than the passive avoidance of peacemaking is vital

If you have read books such as Democracy Awakening, Think Faster, Talk Smarter or Why Smart, Creative, and Highly Sensitive People Hurt, you’ll want to read Boyd Matheson’s From Rage to Reason.
