About the author

N. M. Kay is an independent scholar living and working in London. He has published three previous editions with commentary of Latin works: Martial XI (1985), Ausonius: Epigrams (2001), and Epigrams from the Anthologia Latina (2013).

A critical edition of part of Venantius Fortunatus' Vita Sancti Martini, which paraphrases in epic verse Sulpicius Severus' famous prose hagiography of St Martin and represents one of the last flowerings of a recognisably classical Latin tradition.
