Laminitis in horses

The lack of understanding of the pathophysiology of laminitis limits action in the prevention and treatment of this disease. The mechanisms involved in this pathogenesis include multifactorial causes: ischaemic, enzymatic, inflammatory, endocrine, metabolic and traumatic. About the author

The authors have a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a postgraduate qualification in the field. They work in teaching and research at the Federal University of Pelotas, with experience in large animal clinic, surgery and reproduction.
