We are creative organisms, pattern-seeking learning machines; the only thing that stops us is how we use our minds.
The ideas in this book will spark your creativity and demonstrate the techniques used.
It is beholden upon us to think bigger, better, and more creatively. We cannot fix the mess in the world by using the same thinking that created it.

About the author

My passion for playing the guitar in my teens led me to play in bands and teach music. Initially, I was self-taught, and although I studied classical guitar with various teachers and attended masterclasses with many famous players, including Barney Kessel, most of my learning was experiential and playing concerts across London and the South-East. I adopted creative, focused teaching using psychological techniques such as NLP, which I learnt from its founder, Richard Bandler. I have taught many who have achieved great success in the arts and music industry throughout my teaching profession. To name a few, guitarist Ben Thomas, who now plays for Adele and Sam Smith, and the actor Alex Tomkins, who is currently playing the lead part of Dewey in the School of Rock in the West End. My interest in teaching and creativity comes from my work with inspirational players whom I observed and interviewed to find how they think and achieve their goals, which I am now using in a podcast entitled "Creative", which is available on iTunes. My experience in music education spans over 45 years. In that time, I've taught many highly successful musicians, actors, songwriters, and also people who have enjoyed the guitar as a hobby. A fascination with people's ability to learn has led me to study the psychological aspects of learning through NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), which I use in training programs within the summer school Bluescampuk and the music not for profit, Ikaromusic.
