About the author
Debbie was born in New Zealand to a family crazy about water. In her late teens, she ran off to sea to become one of the first women ever to become a successful prawn trawling Captain in the land of rough, tough men in Northern Australia. The proud mother of 4 sons and a granddaughter, a self-confessed workaholic, and known as a bit of a 'Goer'. Debbie works in real estate and is the Commodore of her local Sandspit Yacht Club. She manages her family's 74-hectare working cattle and sheep farm north of Auckland with her partner Les. They own a lovely 32-foot classic yacht and a sport fishing boat. Now and then, they sneak across Cairns, Australia, to go barramundi fishing! One of her favourite pastimes is singing at the top of her voice, to her Spotify music with Les. This is usually while smashing through rough weather, all sails blazing, aboard their yacht. Energetic, feisty, and always up for a laugh. Debbie is one of those girls who absolutely loves life and is blessed to be born into and surrounded by a dynamic family who all make things happen!
