A collection of sixty commented poems of contemporary Chilean poet David Rosenmann-Taub, David Rosenmann-Taub: Poems and Commentaries continues Kenneth Gorfkle's exposition of the Chilean poet's work in English. Except for the poet's explanations in his own books Quince and Glosa, these commentaries are unique in illuminating the poet's work. Of the many topics that the poems treat, consciousness in all its aspects is the poet's primary concern. It comprises a full half of the poems in the book and reverberates in other poems as well.

About the author

Kenneth Gorfkle earned a doctorate in Spanish literature, graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014. During his graduate work at UNC he gained expertise and ultimately became an authority on the work of Chilean poet, composer, and draftsman David Rosenmann-Taub. In the last nine years, Dr. Gorfkle has written and published extensively on the poet. He has also received a grant and several awards from the Corda Foundation, which preserves and promotes the work of this challenging and multifaceted artist.
