Sleep bruxism is an important clinical condition in children, due to the fact that tooth grinding is often very intense and reappears over a long period of time. It causes tooth wear, headaches, facial muscle pain, discomfort during chewing, and limited mouth opening. Bruxism is an entity that should be known to the medical community to ensure its correct identification and treatment. As a pediatric dentist we should accurately diagnose bruxism in children, educate parents, prevent potential consequences for oral health, and identify possible comorbidities. In addition, appropriate clinical guidelines to treat bruxism in children should be developed.
