Everywhere I look is death. For a while this view had subsided, but it is now all I see. I go to school to have my patients die, I come home to have a relative die. I get a call that says an uncle is almost dead, and I hear by word of mouth that friends have lost a loved one. Where death isn't, sickness is. Deterioration, pain, confusion, grief, is there nothing else? Though the people are different, the emotions are too familiar, once again raw not only for me, but for those I am around. The memories of losses past are brought back strong with similarities in the deaths of the recent. There is little I can do, though I fight feverishly to beat the past.

For many years, author Katie Schnoor has been dealing with the turmoil surrounding death, including the heartbreaking losses of her grandfather and father. The one thing that has helped her through this difficult journey is writing. It allows her to explore her feelings, find the words needed to express her grief, and untangle the mass of confusion in her mind.

Though it is not always easy, Schnoor pours out her raw emotions in To Whom it May Concern. She offers her words to you, in the hope that they will help you work through the pain of dealing with death.
