Alzheimer's disease (AD) refers to a progressive brain disease, which gradually destroys thinking skills and memory, as well as the capacity to perform even basic tasks. It is one of the leading causes of progressive dementia. There are several factors that contribute to the development of AD, but the most significant risk factor is aging.
