Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is currently the gold standard for the treatment of symptomatic, uncomplicated vesicular lithiasis. General anesthesia is the standard anesthetic technique for laparoscopic surgery.Spinal anesthesia is a commonly used technique with a very good safety profile. It is a simple, rapid, powerful and reliable technique. In most cases, it provides good, long-lasting postoperative analgesia via intrathecal injection of opiates. Several studies have demonstrated the feasibility of laparoscopic cholecystectomy under spinal anesthesia. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of spinal anesthesia for laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and to compare this anesthetic technique with general anesthesia in terms of quality of anesthesia, analgesia and patient and surgeon satisfaction.
