The first work, Joannis Meursii Elegantiae Latini Sermonis, is a guide to the proper use of Latin in conversation and writing, but also contains numerous bawdy and obscene examples of Latin phraseology. The second work, Aloisia Sigaea Toletana de Arcanis Amoris et Veneris, is a fictional dialogue between a young woman and an older man, which includes explicit descriptions of sexual activity. Both works were written in the 17th century and are notable for their frank treatment of sexuality.
