The Concrete Bedroom includes 36 Ukrainian poems illustrated with digital collages. The first poem of the poetry collection was written by Melissa in a bomb shelter at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The poems are arranged in chronological order to walk with the reader from fear and despair to acceptance and hope.

About the author

Melissa Luhova was born in 2002 in Kyiv. She started writing poems at the age of 12. Her hobbies are calligraphy and creating collages. Melissa graduated from the university with a degree in graphic design.
