The scope of this work is to analyse working hours that exceed the normal working day and how such hours tend to affect the worker's fundamental right to leisure. This work also demonstrates the issue of habitual overtime, limitations on the working day and the right to leisure, showing leisure in various aspects and especially detailing its status as a social right in the Brazilian legal system. The aim is to explain the applicability of the right to leisure in labour relations, its importance in the economic and social spheres, as well as to present some data on the impact that excessive overtime has on the Brazilian economy and society.
