Before the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, students and academic experts were acclimated to the traditional mode of teaching and learning: the on-campus system of conducting classes. Nonetheless, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown people's livelihoods into chaos. The traditional educational system had to be placed on hold in order to control the spread of the disease and schools had to adapt to suit the crisis at hand. The Islamic University College, Ghana (IUCG) had to react quickly to adjust to the current situation, thus embracing online teaching and learning as a crisis management technique during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research looked into the internal communications of IUCG during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was structured on the general systems theory and the media richness theory. The study was guided by three objectives being, identifying the tools and approaches used for communication purposes during the COVID-19 pandemic, exploring the effectiveness of internal communications during the COVID-19 pandemic, and assessing the challenges faced by the internal communications of IUCG during the COVID-19 pandemic.
