I make a game of it. To invent stories about the most normal-looking people I see, because I know for a fact that everyone has a story and even though I might never get to hear them all, they get to live it everyday, their silent tale. This one is for all the people we see each day, that we put in categories, let our predjudices get the best of us, and make them out to be someone else entirely. This one is for taking the time to realize the beautiful variety of people we can see out there, with all the possibilities of lives they could lead. This one is for the little mistery that is the strangers we see each day.
About the author
When I was little, these little yellow flowers on paved streets and stone ground fascinated me. It seemed they were exceptionally strong, persevering even if all the odds were against them. Then I learned that this flower went through many stages in its life; one day it is yellow, then green and finally wears a white crown of seeds. That's when I decided then and there, while blowing off it's beautiful seed crown, that they are my favourite flower. And I wasn't to be fazed by those who told me this yellow beam of sunlight wasn't a flower at all but a wild, unwanted weed. It only made me love it more!
My name is Pauline Korb. I was born on the 2nd of July 2004 and grew up in the suburbs of a big town, and have since moved on to pursuit a career in economics. But my passion lies in every word I write and every story I tell. It lies in this very book.
