gives students the comprehensive content review, step-by-step explanations, and Regents-style practice they need to succeed on the updated Regents Examination in Life Science: Biology—fully aligned with New York State’s latest learning standards.

This new edition reflects the 2025 exam format and features:

  • One recent Regents question set, modeled in the new cluster-based format, with answer explanations that clarify correct and incorrect choices
  • Teacher support tools, including guidelines for building instruction around New York’s revised science standards
Two in-depth study units provide a clear and accessible review of essential biology content:
  • Unit One explains the process of scientific inquiry, including how students observe, model, and explain real-world biological phenomena, with emphasis on science and engineering practices used in labs and data interpretation
  • Unit Two covers core biological topics such as:
    • Cell structure and function
    • Biochemistry of living organisms
    • Genetics and heredity
    • Ecology and human impact on ecosystems
    • Evolution and biodiversity
    • Energy flow and matter cycling in organisms and ecosystems
Throughout the book, content is connected to the three dimensions of science learning:
    • Science and Engineering Practices (skills used to investigate and explain science)
    • Core Ideas in Life Science (the most important concepts to know)
    • Crosscutting Concepts (themes that link ideas across topics and units)
Designed as a supportive companion to classroom learning or a standalone Regents review tool, Let’s Review: Life Science Biology helps students build deep understanding—and readiness for the 2025 Regents Biology exam.

    About the Publisher

Many great things begin with a tiny spark, and for Manuel H. Barron, that spark came from a mimeograph machine in the basement of his Brooklyn, NY, bookstore in the late 1930s. People from the community asked Mr. Barron for books to help their children study for the New York State Regents exams. After realizing there wasn't anything available, Mr. Barron created his own study guides.

Now, more than 80 years later, Barron’s continues to help millions of learners worldwide prepare for their next steps. With offerings from pre-college prep to world language guides and professional certification exams, Barron’s wants to be part of your success story no matter what learning path you’re on.

You can trust Barron’s to provide exceptional products created only by top experts with years of experience in education. From generation to generation, our mission remains the same: Learn, grow, and succeed with Barron’s throughout your life-long learning journey.
