This paper studies the legal instruments that regulate the control of the pine weevil pest in the country, and analyses the existing forestry legislation, as well as the constitutional precepts as a starting point, analysing their relationship with environmental law. The environmental forestry regulations are studied in detail in contrast with the municipal regulations in force in the Municipality of Gualaco, making a critical analysis and extending the application of the legislation according to the needs in the incidence and above all in the prevention and control of the pine weevil plague in the Municipality of Gualaco. This research work gathers the opinion of the main actors of the forestry sector at local and national level, specifically those directly related to the prevention and control of the pine weevil pest in the Municipality of Gualaco; which constitutes the basis for a final reflection on the enforcement of forestry legislation in the control of the pine weevil pest in the municipality of Gualaco, department of Olancho, Honduras C.A.
