About the author

José Manuel García Valverde, Ph.D. (2004), University of Seville, is Professor of Renaissance Philosophy as well as Greek Classical Thought. Peter Maxwell-Stuart, PhD (1994), FRHS, FSA (Scotland), is Reader in History at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. He has published many monographs and articles on Classical subjects and the occult sciences in Mediaeval and early modern Europe.
