About the author










Giorgio Gaja is a Judge at the International Court of Justice. He was Professor of International Law at the University of Florence Law School (1974-2011) and a Member of the International Law Commission (1999-2011). His General Course at the Hague Academy of International Law on "Protecting General Interests in the International Community" will be published shortly.

Jenny Grote Stoutenburg is an Associate Legal Officer at the International Court of Justice. She holds law degrees from the University of Cologne, Germany, and the Université Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), France.
