This is the first critical edition of the Summa Alexandrinorum, that is the medieval Arabo-Latin version of an Arabic abridgment of the Nicomachean Ethics. The text is accompanied by a French translation, and is preceded by an analysis of the manuscript tradition and a study on the origins of the Summa.

About the author

Frédérique Woerther, PhD (2003), Habil. (2015), is a researcher in the CNRS. A specialist in Greek rhetorical theory of the classical and hellenistic periods, she has also studied the reception of Aristotelian philosophy in the medieval Arabic world.
