Ce volume présente un récit oral par le griot célébré Djèmory Kouyaté de Nyagassola (actuelle Guinée) (décédé en 2019). Il traite de la façon dont on se souvient de l'époque qui relie la fondation de la société mandingue par Soundiata jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

This volume features an oral account by the acclaimed griot Djèmory Kouyaté from Nyagassola (present-day Guinée) (d. 2019). It deals with the way the era that bridges the foundation of their society by Sunjata to their present-day society, called Manding, is remembered.

Mountaga Diarra, Ph.D. (1993), Institut des Sciences, Moscou. Avant sa retraite il était le Directeur du Départment d'Alphabétisation au DNEB du Ministère d'Éducation Nationale au Mali.
Esger Duintjer, Ir.B. (1972), Université Technique de Delft, architecte-ingénieur en retraite, a travaillé pendant dix ans dans l'Afrique de l'Ouest. Il est l'auteur d'un lexique Bambara-Français.
Jan Jansen, Ph.D. (1995), Université de Leiden, est un Maître de Conférences en Anthropologie Culturelle à l'Université de Leiden. Il a publié en detail sur la tradition orale mandingue.

Mountaga Diarra, Ph.D. (1993), Institute of Sciences in Moscow. Before his retirement he was Head of the Department of Literacy at the DNEB of the Ministry of National Education in Mali.
Esger Duintjer, Ir.B. (1972), Technical University Delft, is a retired architect and structural engineer. He worked in West Africa for ten years for the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements. He is the author of a Bambara-French lexicon.
Jan Jansen, Ph.D. (1995), Leiden University, is Lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at Leiden University. He has published extensively on the Mande oral tradition.
