About the author










John Bodel is W. Duncan MacMillan II Professor of Classics and Professor of History at Brown University. He writes about ancient social, economic, and cultural history and Roman inscriptions and since 1995 has directed the U.S. Epigraphy Project.

Nora Dimitrova Clinton, Ph.D. (Cornell University, 2002) is an independent scholar, affiliated with the American Research Center in Sofia, of which she is Co-Founder and Vice Chair. She has written several books, book chapters, and numerous articles in Classics and Epigraphy.
