The author, having studied a subgroup of three hundred bronze kings, offers a range of insights into the complex of influences that bronzes represent, and the ritual role of the statuary.

Marsha Hill, Ph.D. in Egyptian Art and Archaeology, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, is Curator in the Department of Egyptian Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. She has written extensively about Egyptian art, including bronzes.
