Ed Noort, Ph.D. (1975), Göttingen, is Professor of Old Testament at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Groningen. He heads the Department of Biblical Studies and the Centre for Religious Studies and is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
