Summary

Using the latest research combined with traditional herb lore, this book sets out how to stay healthy and happy into old age and beyond

In her latest book, established herbalist Elisabeth Brooke provides readers with a myriad of practical advice to remain healthy and well as they navigate the challenges of life.

The book is divided into two parts. Part One looks at the fundamentals of staying healthy, which apply to any age, but are especially important as we grow older, and our bodies can become less resilient and the effects of a lifetime's habits may begin to show up in the body. These chapters cover; nourishment, rest, exercise, thinking, happiness, loneliness, fun, and finally death and dying.

Part Two is the practical part of the book, giving practical advice on each of the topics outlined in the first half. This includes a herbal Materia Medica, which lists the herbs mentioned and gives some of the author's favourite recipes for herbal delights and natural Quick Fixes for a number of common conditions, and their remedies.
