Informationen zum Autor Wolfgang Stroebe is a German social psychologist and Emeritus Professor of Social Psychology at the Utrecht University and the University of Groningen, particularly known for his works "Introduction to social psychology" and "Social psychology and health," and on brainstorming. Miles Ronald Cole Hewstone is a leading social psychologist who is well known for his work on social relations. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 1978 and then moved to the University of Oxford from which he obtained a D.Phil. in social psychology in 1981. Klappentext The EUROPEAN REVIEW OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY is an annual series that reflects the dynamism of social psychology in Europe, the attention now paid to European ideas and research, and the exchange of ideas between Europe and the rest of the world. With the help of an editorial board consisting of senior scholars from Europe, the USA, and Australia the editors invite outstanding researchers to contribute to these volumes. "This is the twelfth volume in a universally respected series which successfully reconfirms the international reach and broad range of 'hot topics' covered: Stereotyping, self-in-relationship, social comparison, intention-behaviour relationships and others, all written by well-known scholars from across the globe, despite the world 'European' in the title of the volume. The quality of the literature reviews and the matching of those reviews with probing analyses of new data combine to offer the reader a stimulating experience." -- Professor Steve Duck , University of Iowa, USA "Stroebe and Hewstone have established the Review as an indispensable resource for social psychologists, whether researchers or teachers, wishing to keep themselves abreast of developments in the discipline. Once again with Volume 12 the editors have brought together a distinguished group of contributors and have secured from them comprehensive and informative reviews..." -- Professor Nicholas Emler , The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK Zusammenfassung This annual series reflects the dynamism of social psychology in Europe and the attention now being paid to European ideas and research. This volume will further the international exchange of ideas by providing an outlet for substantial accounts of theoretical and empirical work that have not been previously published in English.
