I Am Represented

The leaders of tomorrow will need skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). I am Represented introduces tomorrow's leaders to new possibilities through prose and globally inclusive illustrations of representation in STEAM. The book takes children on a journey to explore what STEAM is and to imagine themselves in STEAM. As children explore, they become confident and feel validated when they realize that people who look like them are represented in STEAM. In the beginning, children will ask, "Can I do that?" and after reading the book, they will be able to confidently say, "Yes, I can do that!"

About the author

Christelene Horton was born in the British Caribbean Islands, after completing her undergraduate degree she went on to earn a PhD in Epidemiology and a master's degree in Public Health. When she was young, she dreamt of becoming an artist but was told to pursue a more stable paying career, thus she kept art in the background; writing poetry in her spare time.
