Regards sur l'environnement, une approche sélective is the compilation of presentations made by the author at various meetings around the world, and the series of reports he has written each time he has returned home. Regards sur l'environnement is and will be the title of a series which begins with the present volume I and will continue for as long as we follow national and international discussions on the environment and development. From household waste management to the actions of the National Environmental Action Plan in favor of NGOs, climate action, natural disaster management, the effects of energy systems on the Congo's environment, erosion control and many others, we have reviewed the various themes in chronological order, some of which were chosen by us, while the development of others was requested by the organizers of the meetings. When the choice of theme fell to us, we had each time either presented an environmental problem of great importance for the Congo, or presented an experience, depending on whether or not it had been successful.
