''Evokes the thrill of the chase'' SPECTATOR ''This book is a revelation'' THE HERALD ''Baird writes with gusto . . . her remarkable book can guide all of us back towards the light'' SCOTTISH DAILY MAIL Green Longhorns, Pimpinel Pugs and Peacock Moths - these are just some of the striking species that catch ecologist Katty Baird''s attention. Roaming Scotland in all manner of weather, she climbs down abandoned mines and ventures behind waterfalls in search of these misunderstood and maligned creatures. Meetings with Moths is an uplifting call for everyone to look more closely at their surroundings and discover nature''s hidden secrets, but perhaps more importantly to find the passion that ignites us.

About the author

Following a Zoology degree and PhD, Katty Baird continued in academia studying insect-plant interactions. She now works as an ecologist, recording and monitoring invertebrates throughout Scotland. Natural history has always been an important part of Katty’s life and in the past decade moths have become the focus of her attention.
