Islamic health economics is a new discipline that did not exist before. Islamic health economics and universal health coverage is a first to help the poor and needy to get proper health coverage. The whole world has agreed that by 2030 the citizens of the whole world, without exception, should have free and adequate health care. And all experts in health economics agree that this goal is difficult to achieve, especially in the poorest countries, because a large part of the population will not be covered by the current health systems for financial reasons. Even in rich countries, a large part of the population will not be able to be taken care of. Because as we know, health has no price but a cost. And this cost is sometimes very high and poor countries cannot afford it. But if we introduce the zakat we will be able to achieve universal health coverage.
