Abortive chlamydia is an abortive disease of small ruminants. It is responsible for significant economic losses once the pathogen is present in the herd. In order to investigate the importance of abortive chlamydia in small ruminants, a survey was carried out during the extended period between 2012 and 2013. The first was a questionnaire survey of small ruminant farmers in the central region to assess their abortion practices. The second part consists of confirming the suspicion of the existence of abortive chlamydia and estimating its prevalence by serological diagnosis (indirect ELISA). The analysis of the questionnaire gave us a suspicion of the circulation of abortive chlamydia, which was confirmed by indirect serological diagnosis.
