About the author










Arnoldo De León served as a member of the Angelo
State University Department of History from 1973 to 2015. Upon his retirement,
the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System bestowed upon him the
title of Distinguished Professor of History Emeritus, and the history
department now bears his name. He has published many books on American history,
Texas history, Mexican American history, and Latin American history.
