Sustainable fisheries and adaptation to climate change - the necessary reforms of fisheries law in the ECOWAS region

Fishing is a development factor and must be rationally and efficiently exploited. Indeed, it represents a very important sector in the economy of some African countries and more specifically those of the ECOWAS region. The need to regulate fishing constitutes a guarantee for the development of this source of income as well as the protection and preservation of nature which is in conformity with the new orientation of the international legal order, tending to the safeguarding of nature and natural resources.

Fatma Ndiaye, nascida em Mbour (Senegal), possui um mestrado em direito público - relações internacionais e também um mestrado em direito ambiental internacional e comparado e um mestrado em direito migratório; é doutoranda em direito e funcionária do Tribunal de Grande Instance de Dakar.
