Many oil and gas fields are characterized by a high content of water, which complicates the extraction process. At the same time, the trend of increasing the volume of production contributes to a constant increase in the consumption of water resources. Due to the concentration of aggressive components of cooling water in heat exchange equipment and process pipelines, a number of interrelated problems arise during the continuous operation of the circulating water supply systems of petrochemical enterprises: deposition of salts, corrosion, and contamination by microorganisms. The high aggressiveness of the technological water environment is due to the presence of dissolved gases (H2, CO2, and O2), mechanical impurities, salt ions (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, SO42-, Cl-), as well as microorganisms. Therefore, the development of modern methods of corrosion protection of water circulation systems of petrochemical enterprises is one of the most important problems of the industry.
