Informationen zum Autor Gerald Schwedler is Professor of Medieval History at the Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany. His research areas include medieval historiography, memory culture and economic history. He has published various books and articles on medieval strategies of memory and forgetting ( Damnatio in memoria , 2014; Damnatio memoriae , 2020). He currently works on cultural inflation and imitation in the Middle Ages ( Nachahmen im Mittelalter , 2018) as well as medieval patterns to deal with cultural degeneration ( Exzerpieren – Kompilieren – Tradieren, 2017).
