About the author










E.J. (Ernest John) Harrison (1873-1961) was one of the original non-Japanese exponents of Judo and a pioneer of bringing the sport of Judo to the West. He enjoyed an international reputation as a quali¿ed interpreter of Judo's most effective methods. He was the author of several books on Judo, other martial arts, and Eastern philosophy.
