The mining boom that Burkina Faso experienced in 2008 has generated a lot of interest for job seekers. However, what are the occupational health and safety conditions in the gold mines? Do mining companies respect their obligations in terms of occupational health and safety? What is the role of workers in the prevention of occupational risks? These are some of the questions that led us to choose the contribution of the occupational health and safety committee (CSST) in the prevention of occupational hazards in industrial gold mines as the theme for the thesis at the end of cycle A of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) for the training of labor inspectors. This work was possible thanks to the collaboration of the elders and some companies.
