Who is James? He has haunted Justine in her dreams for the past year. But these dreams only happen when she is wearing the necklace she found in England during the family vacation a year ago. Sometimes he appears to her in an ancient castle, and other times in a present-day hospital setting. She doesn't know who he is, she only knows she loves him.

Only a junior in high school, her family decides to move to England for two years so her father, a world-famous heart surgeon, can teach at the Oxford School of Medicine. At first, Justine was upset about the move but then realized this offered the perfect opportunity to find out if James was real or just a figment of her imagination. She's not sure how to locate him but has two years to try.

Her dreams become a reality when she sees James standing before her in the garden at their new home. How did he find her? How will she react when she sees him? Will they ever travel through the portal and return to the magic of Wiltshire?

Follow these two young people on their journey as they become reacquainted with each other.

About the author

As a young girl, reading was not one of my favorite past times. I would much rather sit and watch a movie than read a book. But this changed when I became a teacher. I loved to read the books my students were reading and looked forward to the conversations we would have about the characters. I also realized how much I enjoyed teaching my students to write. Because of this, I decided that one day I would write my own book but didn't realize how long it would take me to put those words on paper. Now that I have retired, I have finally accomplished the goal I set for myself. Unexpected Return is the sequel to Unexpected Detour and I hope you enjoy reading both. Pam Knowles resides in Carmel, Indiana, USA. She is married and the proud parent of three children and Nana to six grandchildren.
