From pushing a stroller down a paved trail to climbing rugged peaks and rafting rivers to skiing through a winter wonderland, the Interior has many opportunities for recreation.
Outside in the Interior covers trails originating from the road system of Interior Alaska and notes which ones are restricted to non-motorized access. Each description includes round-trip distance, estimated duration and difficulty, highest elevation, best season to go, what land management agency is responsible for the area, a narrative about the trip, and directions on how to get to the access point, as well as what wildlife and landscape features to watch out for. New maps and photos accompany each description.
Kyle Joly draws on his years of outdoor experience to explain trail etiquette, safety, and the environment of interior Alaska. This will be your constant companion on the trail.
