Schoenefeld is a Research Scientist at the Institute for Housing and Environment (IWU), Germany, and a Visiting Researcher at Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia, UK. He earned his doctorate from the University of East Anglia and an MPhil from the University of Oxford. He co-edited a special issue on the politics of policy evaluation in the European Union for the German Political Science Quarterly and has published several peer-reviewed articles in the areas of climate change policy, policy evaluation and the European Union.
