The study entitled "The Problems of Implementing Kiswahili for Interpersonal Communication at the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB)". The problem of this study emanates from the less use of Kiswahili for interpersonal communication at the REB. It set out to meet the objectives of determining the role and place of Kiswahili in the Rwandan language policy landscape; assessing the challenges of implementing the use of Kiswahili for interpersonal communication at the REB, and proposing solutions to the challenges faced in the implementation of Kiswahili for interpersonal communication at the REB. The results revealed that the Rwandan language policy considers Kiswahili as an official language in Rwandan landscape as well as other three languages, but it is less used in social interaction as compared to the others, Further, it mentioned some challenges which limit interpersonal communication in Kiswahili between employees of the REB.
