"When Heads Come Together outlines the journey to solve many longstanding scientific mysteries, including the elusive scourge of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), potentially saving contact sports and the brains of our warfighters. 'Why don't clever people solve Traumatic Brain Injury?' A question posed by a member of the Army Research Lab posed to Dr. David Smith. Fourteen years and 25 journal publications later, he has pioneered 'SLOSH Theory' after studying nature's highly g-tolerant creatures, such as woodpeckers, giraffes, and head-ramming sheep."--

About the author

Dr. Smith formulated, and then pioneered "SLOSH Theory," which is the basis of his compression collar invention for humans designed specifically to mitigate SLOSH energy absorption, thereby reducing the risk of brain damage from traumatic events. Further, he authored a presentation on "The Physics of Traumatic Brain Injury-Revisited," presented by Julian Bailes MD to the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Annual Meeting in 2016. This venue represents the largest gathering of Neurosurgeons and Brain Injury Specialists in the world.
