?The largest portion of Hagemann's book consists of a chronology (by month) of the various exhibitions, concerts, world events, publications, plays, and events in the lives of the artists who are related to or have affected German and Austrian Expressionism from 1900 to 1939; some artists have been included who are not ordinarily associated with Expressionists. The second part of the book is an annotated bibliography of sources by or about Expressionists.... Sources include primary and secondary material that may be helpful to the overall study of this time period and the place of Expressinism in history. The bibliography includes monographs and exhibition catalogs, in German and in English, but it does not include journal articles. The two indexes list proper names in the chronology and exhibitions listed by year and museum. Recommended for graduate students and art historians doing extensive research in this area of art history.?-Choice
